Sexual Health Screening
Confidential Sexual Health Screening for Women
Prioritising Your Sexual Health at Every Stage of Life
Your sexual health is a vital and integral part of your overall wellbeing. However, for many women, it’s a topic that can feel difficult to discuss, especially as they navigate the changes of midlife. Life can bring new beginnings—perhaps a new relationship after a divorce or bereavement—and it’s a time when taking proactive care of your sexual health is more important than ever.
At MyMenopauseSupport.org, I provide a completely confidential, non-judgmental, and reassuring sexual health screening service. This is a safe space to ask questions and take responsible, empowered steps to protect your health. Prioritizing your sexual wellbeing is a profound act of self-care, and I am here to provide you with the highest standard of medical support.

Why is Sexual Health Screening Important in Midlife?
While we often associate STI screening with younger years, it is just as crucial for women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond.
New Relationships
Midlife is often a time of change. If you are embarking on a new sexual relationship, regardless of your age, it is essential for both you and your partner to have a comprehensive sexual health screen.
Symptoms Can Be Silent
Many common sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, and HPV, can have no symptoms at all, especially in women. The only way to know your status for certain is to be tested.
Overlapping Symptoms
The hormonal changes of menopause can cause symptoms like vaginal irritation or changes in discharge. These can sometimes be confused with the symptoms of an STI, making an accurate diagnosis essential.
Protecting Your Long-Term Health
If left untreated, some STIs can lead to more serious long-term health problems. A proactive screening is a simple and effective way to protect your future health.
Confidential
Our Confidential Screening Process
My priority is to ensure your complete comfort and confidentiality throughout the process. A sexual health screening is a straightforward medical check-up.
The Consultation
- The process begins with a sensitive and private consultation. We will discuss your concerns and sexual history to determine which tests are appropriate for you.
The Test
- Depending on your individual circumstances, a full screen typically involves a combination of simple tests:
- Urine Sample
- Blood Test
- Swabs: These may include a self-taken vaginal swab, which you can do yourself in the privacy of a bathroom, or a swab taken by me from the cervix.
Prompt and Private Results
I will contact you directly and confidentially with your results as soon as they are available and will clearly explain what they mean. If any treatment is needed, I will arrange this for you promptly and discreetly.
We can test for a full range of STIs, including Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.
